We had great fun at the weekend with a 2 day music festival. Saturday 7th July saw many young performers on the Terraces Stage until the rain defeated us at about 3.30! On Sunday we were lucky to be allowed to hold the festival indoors at the Queen Victoria Pub which is under new management. Thanks so much to Phil and Ian for letting us in at such short notice.
The standard of talent was very high and one customer handed me a donation and said it was the best afternoon’s entertainment he’d had.
Three of the winning acts will have a chance to record a track on the forthcoming CD being produced for PARC by Hollywood actor, Patrick Bergin, and local musician and sound recorder Gary Redding. Patrick made a guest appearance to thank the young performers. The CD will be in memory of Connor Saunders and will help to raise money for a new sports court on Rottingdean Seafront dedicated to Connor.
Another guest appearance was made by west end actress, Barbara Whatley, who drove down specially from Oxford where she is filming for the BBC’s new production of the Life of Marie Curie.
