This year to celebrate the 90th birthday of HM Queen Elizabeth II there will be a free tea party for local accompanied primary school aged children. Tickets are needed so see poster on how to apply for your free tickets.
The weather should be good but even if it rains the bar and BBQ are going to be there.
Great fun day out for all the family!
You may have seen that a Defibrillator is now operational in a cabinet on the front wall of the Village Public Hall, Park Road in Rottingdean. This was a collaborative project funded by contributions from the Rottingdean Parish Council, Rottingdean and Saltdean Lions and the Village Fair.
The procedure for use is that anyone with a person who is suspected of having a heart attack should immediately ring the Ambulance service on 999. They should describe the symptoms and ask for an ambulance/paramedic. The ambulance service will direct them to the Defibrillator and also provide the code to open the Defibrillator cabinet. The code needs to be entered on the keypad of the cabinet as shown on the front of the cabinet. The instructions printed on the cabinet should be followed and then when the Defibrillator machine is switched on, follow the directions given by the Defibrillator.
The machine will “speak” to you and the instructions given are simple. It will detect whether the patient is having a heart attack and should this prove not to be so, it will not produce a shock. Once the ambulance arrives care should be passed to the paramedic. The use of the Defibrillator can save valuable time for a patient and save lives.
On behalf of the Rottingdean and Saltdean Lions, we would like to thank all involved in providing this life saving facility.
As part of Smugglers Night in Rottingdean, the Lions will run their annual auction to raise funds for local charities and community projects. The auction will start at 7.30 with a break for the fireworks.
A great fun way to get your Christmas present bargains so come early as the White Horse gets very busy on Smugglers Night
