We are pleased to announce the last two months results as follows:-
The annual July anniversary date is nigh and whether or not you are already a subscriber, now’s the time to think about joining or
re-joining The Club.
Apart from having a flutter, forty percent of the income is allocated to village events and local worthy causes such as ‘Rottingdean in Bloom’ and the Christmas Tree in Neill Road and if one invests twelve pounds per lucky number (i.e. one pound per month) then, on reaching our optimum target of 200 numbers, the four monthly prizes range from ten to fifty pounds, with a bumper £240 at Christmas.
Numbers will be issued in strict rotation and will correspond with the number quoted at the top of your £12 receipt and two independent tellers in NatWest Bank will make the draw at the beginning of each month with cheques being sent out immediately afterwards. Naturally, the success of any such scheme is dependent upon the support it receives, but please don’t forget ‘you’ve got to be in it to win it’.
Following the demise of our Business Association the Club is now run under the auspices of our newly formed “Visit Rottingdean” partnership, retaining the same ideals as hitherto, but with the object of encouraging tourists and cursory visitors into the village in order to maintain and indeed improve upon the financial viability of our shops and services, to the benefit of our residents, without it otherwise destroying the heart and sole of our village.
Application forms can be obtained from the Post Office or Madwaxcandles in the High Street, both of whom hold the necessary lucky numbered receipt books should you decide to take the plunge and in order to allow for any last minute punters the initial draw will be delayed until later in July, when we are also able to reconcile the current bankers standing orders.
